Cameras: Indoor/outdoor split covers key entry points and living spaces, managed natively through the same Unifi console as the rest of the network — no separate NVR ecosystem to maintain.

Sensors: Water leak sensors near high-risk areas (water heater, under sinks) for early leak detection, plus power/utility monitoring to identify which devices draw the most electricity.

Network integration: Cameras and sensors sit on the isolated IoT VLAN from the network upgrade, following the same default-deny segmentation as every other smart device. Footage storage ties into the Home Media & File Server project for local, self-hosted archiving instead of relying solely on cloud recording.
